4 Years On
Launched 4 years ago, the Queensland Health’s Nurse Navigator program was created for patients with complex care needs. The Nurse Navigators are Advanced Practice Nurses and Midwives that help patients with care coordination and care planning.
A Nurse Navigator has the system knowledge and access, clinical skills and time to understand each person’s needs and to partner with them to develop a plan of care that addresses their health needs and respects and values their time and circumstances.

Ensuring stringent quality standards in the lifecycle of medical devices

With over 20 years of experience in the medical device regulatory space, Dr Bavej’s expertise lies in providing educational opportunities for regulatory professionals in Australia to ensure continuous learning and professional development. She collaborates closely with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) to run workshops that provide invaluable experience, networking opportunities, and skill enhancement.
AHJ S1E4: Augmented Reality Learning – Inside MS
Augmented learning now has application seeing the changes in a patient’s brain with Multiple Sclerosis through MRI data. Australian Health Journal met the people behind the augmented reality visor technology that will soon be used to teach trainee doctors the transitional phases of MS.
The technology has been developed by Novartis and in collaboration with the Sydney Neuroimaging Analysis Centre, located within the University of Sydney’s Brain and Mind Centre and Hatch Australia, a creative design team based in Sydney. To date the technology has been well received by neurology health care specialists attending conferences in Melbourne and in Berlin, Germany. We caught with a demo for all other healthcare professionals at the recent ARCS Conference.
